Visiting the Vizcaya Gardens in Miami

Vizcaya Gardens /

Hello lovies! Hope you are well, my Mum came to visit and we played tourists at the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens down in Miami. Lots of people told me that it was a must see so off we went. The villa turned museum was built in the early 1900s by Chicago entrepreneur James Deer who took inspiration from all the travels he did in Europe. The result, an eclectic mix of styles with a Spanish interior, French gardens and a mini Venice, Italy by the ocean. Quite a surprising decor!

As much as we really wanted to go and visit the Vizcaya Gardens, and we’re so glad we did, I gotta admit I was a bit disappointed. You can feel the grandness of its former glory and how gorgeous this place must have been, yet it is in serious need of some loving… Wether it’s due to a change in management, lack of funds, or a little bit of both, the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is not, unfortunately, as well taken care of as it once was. Shame, this place deserves all the love it can get. Nevertheless we enjoyed the visit and here are some pictures.

What I’m wearing:

  • White jeans by H&M, available here and on sale!
  • White off the shoulder crop top by Nasty Gal, sold out, but similar available here, herehere, here and here
  • Sunnies by Quay x Desi Perkins available here (OTL II in black)

Thank you for stopping by and keep me posted should you visit / have visited the Vizcaya Gardens, tell me what your think! Lots of Love.

With style,

x M
