Marilicious Approved: Advanced Night Repair by Estee Lauder

Advanced Night Repair Serum Review /

This is one of my most favorite beauty products ever. I love that Estee Lauder removed the silicones in the second formula for this Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II serum. Kudos. (In this post I talk about the ingredients you should stay away from to avoid breakouts, and silicone is one of them, more info here).

What is Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II?

This is more than a serum and despite its name, it can be applied both in the morning and at night. If you’ve been following me you know that I always recommend spending the most of your skincare budget on a good serum. It is the product that is going to treat the skin and that goes deeper in the tissues.

That said, your skin needs to be prepped and nicely cleaned for the serum to deliver its full potential. I recommend acid toning at least once a week to make sure that the skin is ready to receive all the goodies you have for her (more about acid toning here). Otherwise it is basically like applying layer over layer of nail polish without ever removing the older chipped layers. Your nails are gonna look like crap. So will your skin.

In a nutshell, Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II is an anti-aging serum that makes your skin alive again.

It does all the wonderful things that we expect from a serum, deeply hydrates, retains moisture, replumps, smoothes wrinkles, evens skin tone and gives radiance. This product is basically the holy grail of beauty product on steroids.

How and when to use Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II?

As I said, although it is designed to repair the skin during the night as the cells are on full power recovery mode between 1am and 4 am, hence removing your makeup and moisturizing before bed being important… It works wonders during the day too, especially when you need an extra pick me up.

To be used as your first face product before your cream. Can be topped with another serum. Layering is key, wether when you create an outfit, do your makeup and take care of your skin. So layering ANR then a serum then a face cream is the bomb.

Not greasy, not heavy, penetrates instantly. I love it so much and the fact that I now live in the US where Estee Lauder is cheaper (yay!) is a blessing.

Price:

ANR is in the same price range as many of the good serums out there, such a Clarins Double Serum, Shiseido or the Sunday Riley ones.

Comes in different sizes, 1oz for $68 and 1.7oz for $98, and a little goes a long way.

Get it in duty free should you travel abroad 🙂 or take advantage or package deals such as this one, 2 for $168.
