Kombucha Benefits /
Hello lovies! Sharing my little daily addiction… Kombucha!
What is kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented tea that is naturally effervescent with living probiotics (help with our digestive and immune systems), amino acids (help in building protein), polyphenols (antioxidant hence anti-aging), and active enzymes (help detoxify the liver).
The ancient Chinese called kombucha the “Immortal Health Elixir” and it has been around for over 2,000 years, marketing is now bringing it to us lol. It was about time.
I strongly believe that health, and skin health in particular, originates in the gut. When our digestion is great, everything flows the right way – no puffiness, no bloatedness, no immune reaction leading to skin conditions and so forth, etc.
Supports a healthy gut / A healthy gut is fondamental to a flawless complexion and kombucha is an ally to getting that gut healthy. Kombucha is very rich in probiotics that support a healthy gut and has antibacterial properties. The living bacteria in kombucha resulting from the fermentation process (kombucha is a fermented tea), destroy the bad bacteria present in our gut and keep everything nice and perfect in there. Je like.
Boosts our immune system / Having a healthy gut that doesn’t have to deal with allergens and pathogens helps and boosts our immune system tremendously.
Detoxifies / The active enzymes (result of fermentation) help detoxify the liver, making the liver clean and happy. Our metabolism can work properly, the liver can do his job of filtering the blood and breaking down fats, and it shows on your skin. Buh-bye puffiness, breakouts and dull complexion.
Anti-aging / Because kombucha is rich in antioxidants, it helps combat free radicals that cause aging. More info here where I wrote an entire post explaining what the heck anti-oxidants really are.
My favorite Kombucha (and the only one I drink) is the one by GT’S in the flavors “Gingerade”, “Synergy Trilogy” which tastes like a lemony raspberry and “Hibiscus Ginger” (not in the pic, I was out, bummer…).
I love those drinks, they’re sparkly, fresh, give you an energy boost and uplift your mood, while being good for you and your health. Well, yes there’s a bit of sugar in them so not to be drank instead of water for sure. But as someone who breaks out when drinking bottled juice, it’s such a pleasure to have a fizzy yummy drink that won’t make me break out while giving me so many benefits.
I get mine at WholeFoods or at Publix. They have over 30 different flavors, so there’s something for everyone.
Please comment below and tell me if you’ve tried, and/or like kombucha as well and which one is your favorite!! Looking forward to knowing what you think 😉
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you found this post helpful!
