Marilicious Approved: Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil

Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil Review

I’m always on the look out for cleansers that are free of sodium laureth sulfate (read why here) and I stay away from anything foamy. I really love oily textures, I find it very relaxing and it makes makeup removal quick and easy without having to rub your face with tons of cotton pads damped with makeup removing lotion until the last cotton pad stays white. I’m quite lazy at night, and as much as I love my skincare routine, I never look forward to the cotton pads situation, yet I get excited aout the oil thing, I like it. A couple pumps of oil in the palm of your hands, gently massage the face, then add a bit of water to rinse and use a damp wash cloth to remove it all. Easy, peasy, wonderful.

I am actually loving this cleansing oil by Caudalie. I love this brand, it’s affordable, great quality and no naughty products. They stay away from paragons, mineral oils, phthalates etc.

What is Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil:

It is a cleansing oil that removes makeup and impurities to gently yet efficiently clean the skin.

How to use it:

As said above, apply a couple pumps in your hands and massage your face and eyes to remove makeup and impurities. Then rinse your hands, massage your face again with wet hands. The oil will transform into a white colored water texture when in contact with water, leaving zero trace of oil on your skin. Splash some water on your water and remove everything with a damp wash cloth. Et voilà.

When to use it:

I love it as a makeup remover and it makes a great morning cleanser to give some freshness to the skin in the am.

If you double cleanse at night, I would use it only as cleanser #1. This oil is first of all a makeup remover and does its job fantastically well, but not that suited as a second cleanser. For cleanser #2, which targets cleansing the skin (once makeup has been removed) I would rather go for something like Tata Harper.

For what skin type:

Suitable for all skin types.

What’s in it:

Full ingredient list: HELIANTHUS, ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, POLYGLYCERYL-4 OLEATE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, RICINUS COMMUNIS (CASTOR) SEED OIL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS (SWEET ALMOND) OIL, VITIS VINIFERA (GRAPE) SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE)

It is free of mineral oils so won’t make you breakout.

How much is it?

It retails for $28 for 100ml at Sephora. Will last a couple months according to your usage (am/pm).

How long have I been using it:

A month.

Would I buy it again:

Yes, I love this product.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope this review of Caudalie’s Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil was helpful. You can get it here.

With style,
